A customer required one of their rooms to be sound-proofed so that it could be used as a music studio.  Instruments including a piano and a drum kit were going to be played so the acoustic solution had to be top notch.

The solution was to build a stud wall, on two walls only, including the party wall, creating a 50mm an air gap between the party wall and the stud wall before 100mm Rockwool acoustic insulation was fitted between the studs. Damping bars including rubber spacers were screwed onto the studs before 2 layers of acoustic plasterboard were fitted with a layer of Tecsound acoustic membrane sandwiched in-between. The plasterboard was filled and finally painted, producing a music studio that hopefully won't annoy the neighbours!

A new floor was required in a cottage style kitchen, which required the old tiles to be removed and the floor levelled before the new tiles could go down.

The kitchen units were bespoke and fitted over the old tiles so the plinths had to be removed and the old tiles cut back. Once this had been done and the floor levelled, the new tiles could be laid.

​

The customer wanted a specific pattern so a template was made and the tiles were laid to the template. All in all, a very satisfied customer with a new look to their kitchen that will last for years to come!

Laminate flooring is a great way to transform the look of your floor relatively cheaply. This particular floor needed to run straight through the flat, from room to room, seamlessly.

​

It is crucial to plan the floor layout before you lay a single board. This helps you calculate where full boards will end, where a run of laminate will meet a doorway and how it all fits together throughout the plan.

​

Matching edge trim was used to cover the expansion gaps and a colour matched silicon to finish off the finer details. The end result was worth all of the planning and the customer was more than happy with the result.
